Columbia Cornell Obesity Medicine CME

The Institutute of Human Nutrition at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, in collaboration with the Weill Cornell Comprehensive Weight Control Center, will launch its annual course titled "Obesity: Etiology, Prevention, and Treatment" in the spring of 2025. The course is expected to take place either in mid-March or early May.

This comprehensive program will provide an in-depth examination of obesity medicine, focusing on key areas such as physiology and pathophysiology, co-morbidities and complications, as well as pharmacological, behavioral, and surgical treatment options. Participants will learn to navigate the complexities of managing obesity across the lifespan, from childhood through adolescence to adulthood.

The course is tailored for a wide range of healthcare professionals, including physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and others. Physicians seeking certification in obesity medicine through the American Board of Obesity Medicine can earn GROUP 1 credits by attending Columbia Cornell's Obesity Medicine courses.
