Program Overview Sleep Symposium for Clinicians & Researchers: Working Around the Clock: Health Implications of Shift Work VIRTUAL CONFERENCE The goal of this symposium is to expose health professionals and scientists with up-to-date information on the relation between sleep health and infectious diseases and the immune system. Learning Objectives At the completion of this course, participants will be able to discuss, identify, and explain the impact of shift work on health. Participants will understand underlying biological contributors to adverse consequences of shift work and identify tools to improve sleep and cardiometabolic outcomes in shift workers. Our goals are to provide cutting-edge information and research findings to clinicians and scientists at all stages of their career and with diverse background and expertise; to create an interactive setting via discussions with each speaker and program director in which attendees can meet and learn from program faculty. Target Audience The course targets health professionals in the broad fields of primary care, pediatrics, geriatrics, neurology, psychology, psychiatry, and cardiology, as well as scientists working in the fields of sleep and brain health. This course is open to medical doctors, researchers, nurses, physician assistants, fellows. Accreditation Statement In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and Columbia University. Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

 Amedco LLC designates this live virtual activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

 Physician Assistants PAs may claim a maximum of 7.5 Category 1 credits for completing this activity. NCCPA accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Nurse Practitioners The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) recognizes the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as approved accreditors and allow reciprocity for AANPCP continuing education credit. The 26th Annual Institute of Human Nutrition (IHN) Academic Retreat and Wu Lectureship will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm Eastern Time at the Vagelos Education Center Clyde and Helen Wu Auditorium. This year's Wu Lecturer is Silvia Corvera, MD, who serves as the Director of the Clinical Translational Research Pathway at T.H. Chan School of Medicine and is a Professor in the Program in Molecular Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. IHN will present three awards at the retreat. The Marija Chouinard Award for Outstanding Research Presentation honors Dr. Chouinard and recognizes two presenters for the best research presentations. The Bernard F. Erlanger Award for Excellence in Research, established in 2012, is given to a recent Nutritional and Metabolic Biology PhD program graduate for exceptional research and thesis quality. The IHN Distinguished Master's Thesis Award honors a recent MS program graduate for an exceptional thesis.
